Revd William Steacy instituted to Athlone Union of Parishes

Family, friends and well wishers joined the parishioners of Athlone union of parishes for the institution of their new rector, on the evening of 11th September. Revd William Steacy was instituted at a service in St Mary’s Church, Athlone. Local political representatives and dignitaries also attended the event.

Parishioners from Kingscourt Union of parishes also attended, to offer their good wishes and support.Revd Steacy was previously rector of Kingscourt, also in the dioceses of Meath and Kildare. He was joined at the service by his wife Roberta.

Revd Steacy was instituted by Bishop Pat Storey. The preacher was Archdeacon Leslie Stevenson.

Following the service a reception was held in the nearby Sheraton Hotel, for everyone who had gathered for the service.
