A special Service was held in All Saints Church, Mullingar to commission and recommission Parish Readers from across the dioceses of Meath and Kildare.

The Service took place at 6pm and was led by Bishop Pat Storey and Canon Alastair Graham (rector of All Saints). Canon Graham is Warden of Readers in the dioceses of Meath and Kildare.

In her sermon Bishop Pat talked about the important role that Parish Readers had in the conduct of weekly worship, which she described as being the core of the life of the Church. She thanked them for their commitment to their ministry.

The Parish Readers were commissioned during the Service. As well as being joined by family and friends, they were also accompanied by their rectors. Some Readers and rectors were unable to attend due to prior commitments.

After the Service everyone was invited to tea and refreshments in the reception area of All Saints Church.
